We are developing the social individualist meta-context for the future. From the very serious to the extremely frivolous... lets see what is on the mind of the Samizdata people. Who Are We?The Samizdata people are a bunch of sinister and heavily armed globalist illuminati who seek to infect the entire world with the values of personal liberty and several property. Amongst our many crimes is a sense of humour and the intermittent use of British spelling. We are also a varied group made up of social individualists, classical liberals, whigs, libertarians, extropians, futurists, ‘Porcupines’, Karl Popper fetishists, recovering neo-conservatives, crazed Ayn Rand worshipers, over-caffeinated Virginia Postrel devotees, witty Frédéric Bastiat wannabes, cypherpunks, minarchists, kritarchists and wild-eyed anarcho-capitalists from Britain, North America, Australia and Europe. Borexit?
Boris is many things but boring is not one of them.
It depends on the meaning of leave. As someone once said, “It depends on what the meaning of ‘is’, is.”
LOL! Hang in there Boris!
Boris should place the matter in the hands of Mrs May and her government – he’ll stay married for many years to come.
llater,
llamas
Ludicrous hair on one side, ludicrous hat on the other.
It is unwise to put your faith in the fidelity of politicians.
I still judge Boris less likely to betray those who voted for him than May.
This formalising of the separation is not news, though very big on the BBC and ITV news yesterday – much speculation that Boris is putting his house in order (as it were) to be ready for a leadership run. (As the linked story says, this is 2018 not 1950. How times change – not always and in all ways for the better. Hypocrisy is dangerous in politics, though also the homage vice pays to virtue. That homage is certainly gone, as those who killed it are discovering when they try to turn it against their foes.)
Boris is vastly preferable to May & this contretemps will not make him any less preferable (or any less electable, and he is electable). But the joke is too good not to run with 😆
You’re talkin’ ’bout them things what be on the end of tree branches?
Longrider has a recent post entitled History repeats itself. The second reply from someone called Jax is worth considering for quote of the day I think.
