We are developing the social individualist meta-context for the future. From the very serious to the extremely frivolous... lets see what is on the mind of the Samizdata people.
Samizdata, derived from Samizdat /n. - a system of clandestine publication of banned literature in the USSR [Russ.,= self-publishing house]

St. George… Patron saint of despoilers of the planet! Well what else do you call someone shown mercilessly slaughtering an endangered species like those poor dragons!
Have a splendid and robustly English St. George’s Day!

Who Are We? The Samizdata people are a bunch of sinister and heavily armed globalist illuminati who seek to infect the entire world with the values of personal liberty and several property. Amongst our many crimes is a sense of humour and the intermittent use of British spelling.
We are also a varied group made up of social individualists, classical liberals, whigs, libertarians, extropians, futurists, ‘Porcupines’, Karl Popper fetishists, recovering neo-conservatives, crazed Ayn Rand worshipers, over-caffeinated Virginia Postrel devotees, witty Frédéric Bastiat wannabes, cypherpunks, minarchists, kritarchists and wild-eyed anarcho-capitalists from Britain, North America, Australia and Europe.

Right you are Perry!
Bugger the dragon, and the Scots also.
Well Herod, I am a broad minded chap so if you can find some Scottish person willing to bend over for you, I am not inclined to criticise someone for their peccadilloes. Consenting adults and all that. But I disapprove of bestiality as I am by no means sure a dragon is capable of giving informed consent.
If dragons existed there would undoubtedly be campaigns for their reintroduction to Britain. Actually there probably are campaigns despite their non-existence.
Hope everyone had a very enjoyable St. George’s day.
As somebody who resides to the left of the pond, may I ask how should St. George’s Day be celebrated?
How do the Welsh feel about dragon-baiting? And what will the Chinese make of all this?
Perry, in some tales, dragons are very intelligent. Bilbo talks to Smaug, and all that. so dragons could give informed consent. But whether they would?…
Ap… drink beer, kill any dragons you see.
In your picture, does the dragon represent the EU or Alex Salmond?
Just wondering.
Andrew, Mr Salmond is but a Gollum to the EU’s Sauron in my eyes.
According to today’s Times, St George is also the patron saint of those who suffer from syphilis. The symbolism of this I leave to others to assess.
Come to that, who’s going to tell a dragon his consent is uninformed?
PfP: the same person who is going to put the bell on its neck.
I’m more of a Brave Sir Robin type…
