We are developing the social individualist meta-context for the future. From the very serious to the extremely frivolous... lets see what is on the mind of the Samizdata people.

Samizdata, derived from Samizdat /n. - a system of clandestine publication of banned literature in the USSR [Russ.,= self-publishing house]

Picture problems

Sorry but our hosting server has maxed out and thus you may (or may not) have problems seeing the pictures you have have come to see… this will be fixed by tomorrow.

Blogger and template problems

As you can probably deduce, we are having technical problems with both blogger.com and our template. Everything should still be readable so please don’t run away screaming. We are working to fix things as soon as we are able.

New faces at Samizdata

The Samizdata legion of wild-eyed but erudite libertarians continues to grow apace. Our lastest regular contributor is Tom Burroughes, who has been known to moonlight as a journalist at Reuters for his measly paycheck when not more productively spending his time with Libertarian Samizdata. Expect to see him poking a pointy stick in the eye of irrational socialists of both left and right on a regular basis.

Also expect a steady flow of guest articles from people such as author of Statism Sucks! Ver 2.0, the redoubtable Andrew Ian Dodge and many other such folk in the New Year.

God rest ye merry gentlemen

God rest ye merry gentlemen, let nothing you dismay…

Warmest Christmas greetings to all readers of the Libertarian Samizdata.

Reader’s e-mail comments

All e-mails to the Samizdata are indeed read and passed on to whomsoever they pertain. We try to answer them all either directly by e-mail or via a follow up posting. As we have had several annoyed e-mails regarding Samizdata reader Sarah Walker’s remarks which were mentioned in a post, let me state that a reader’s views are just that: a reader’s views. If we find them germane and interesting, we might sometimes publish them with or without comment from a Samizdata editor, but they remain the reader’s views… and no…under no circumstances will we give out their e-mail addresses!

Welcome to ‘Libertarian Samizdata’

The objective of this blog is to disseminate news and views of interest to people who view the world from a critically rational libertarian perspective. Blogs can give us a means to break free of the old meta-contextual world views of ‘left’ and ‘right’ and establish a meta-context of our own, independent of statist and collectivist assumptions and underpinning.

Samizdata wants to receive content that deals with libertarian issues, but we also want to read whatever is of interest to critically rational people, from the deadly serious to the utterly frivolous. We are a group of people with wide interests and highly divergent backgrounds: a motley crew of Libertarians, Extropians, recovering Neo-Conservatives and wild eyed anarchists.

Post away and remember… let’s NOT be safe out there!
