We are developing the social individualist meta-context for the future. From the very serious to the extremely frivolous... lets see what is on the mind of the Samizdata people.
Samizdata, derived from Samizdat /n. - a system of clandestine publication of banned literature in the USSR [Russ.,= self-publishing house]

Hosting problems Our hosting company has been under sustained DOS attacks from some worthless scrotes over the last couple days and if you have been finding it hard to reach samizdata.net, that is why.
It is also why there has been a low volume of posts here as we have frequently been unable to access our blog’s ‘back-end’. The good folks at Hosting Matters have been doing their best to keep things operational under difficult circumstances.

Who Are We? The Samizdata people are a bunch of sinister and heavily armed globalist illuminati who seek to infect the entire world with the values of personal liberty and several property. Amongst our many crimes is a sense of humour and the intermittent use of British spelling.
We are also a varied group made up of social individualists, classical liberals, whigs, libertarians, extropians, futurists, ‘Porcupines’, Karl Popper fetishists, recovering neo-conservatives, crazed Ayn Rand worshipers, over-caffeinated Virginia Postrel devotees, witty Frédéric Bastiat wannabes, cypherpunks, minarchists, kritarchists and wild-eyed anarcho-capitalists from Britain, North America, Australia and Europe.

bummer, I need regular fixes 🙁
Lousy DOS users! I knew it was a mistake to leave CP/M.
Ah, PIP, SID , ED……. (Drifts off into pink-tinged reverie)
There seems to be a lot of this going around the Right side of the web: Asymmetrical belief in free speech, or the Left at the breaking point?
Perhaps whoever succeeded David Blunkett as Home Secretary is responsible.
Helen’s comment is rather interesting …
Helen’s comment is simply paranoid – DOS attacks are unfortunately endemic.
I blame the parents.
Samizdata has been slow to load for the best part of a month now, although now it is back to its lightning self again. Hurrah.
Perry has assured me that it could not be, but personally I think that what caused the problem was my coffee jar posting, with all those photos. That was when the trouble started, I reckon.
