Officers of the Swedish Police have made an announcement regarding the 30 or so bombings in the country in January 2025, attributed to extortion of businesses by criminal gangs, and have said that they can’t cope and they need all of society to mobilise to help them. However, they don’t appear to say how this should be done, or what with, so there might be some misinterpretation and I don’t think that the posse is a thing in Sweden, reported by the independent, reader-funded Nordic Times.
Swedish Police: “Everyone must take responsibility for the bombings”
This puts me in mind of a character in The Daily Telegraph’s Peter Simple column, who, as a fore-runner of today’s DEI activists would roundly proclaim ‘We are all guilty!’, a chilling vision of the climate today.
However, coming back to Sweden, we are told:
– The whole society must be mobilized. Everyone must take responsibility and do even more, said Tobias Bergkvist, deputy regional police chief for Stockholm.
During a press conference on Wednesday, the police emphasized the urgency of the situation and the need to take action to stop the wave of violence.
– We have a very serious situation, not only in Stockholm but also nationally, Bergkvist emphasized.
The Nordic Times has its own take on the matter, citing, as the BBC would probably point out, ‘without evidence’ networks of immigrant criminals.
The police do not seem to have gone that far in terms of specificity:
– What we are seeing now is an escalation of violence, but also a change in the problem. The majority of the bombings we have suffered in December and January have rather financial incentives, are strategic acts targeting companies and often for extortion purposes, says Hampus Nygårds, Deputy Head of the National Operations Unit (NOA).
“Criminal ecosystem”
He explains that the purpose of the attacks is to intimidate business owners into paying to stop the threat.– Money is demanded to stop the violence and threats.
The police describe how a “criminal ecosystem” has emerged, where the recruitment of new perpetrators has now moved to digital platforms. Young people are offered money to commit acts of violence – including murder.
But there is a plan, nothing so far like what appears to be happening in the USA, this is Sweden after all, but the plan is an increased digital presence of the police.
The police are now mobilizing, especially in Stockholm but also nationally. We are taking measures such as reinforcements from different police regions, Bergkvist explains.
An important part of the strategy is said to be to increase the police’s digital presence and competence and to focus more on identifying and stopping bomb makers before the explosions are carried out, but the police believe that crime prevention work cannot be done by the authorities alone.
Reminds me of a Monty Python sketch. The suspect says, “Yes, I’m guilty, but society is to blame.” So the police go and arrest members of society….
Sweden doesn’t need more cops.
She needs fewer Muslims.
Two spot-on comments by Nicholas and Owie. No need to say more, we can move on to the next thread.
Ah, “digital platforms” are to blame! yeah, right. That is a cop-out isn’t it? It means you can blame the internet for every thing without blaming anyone (or any group) so, that’s OK then.
When everyone else has abrogated the social contract for their own benefit, it’s insane to keep to it yourself.
If my customer tells me he has decided to not pay me, I’m not going to keep painting his house.
If I give up my rights to armed defense in reliance on government hiring people to handle that for me, and then government says “never mind”, I’m re-taking that right. It has never been a question of, will my armed defense exist? The only question is, who will provide for it?
What good is a government that fails that basic test? What good is a people that accepts such a government?
So, in response, the government is issuing every Sweden-born citizen (oh, wait, isn’t still a monarchy…subject) a rifle and a thousand rounds of ammo for practice and usage, and will have open carry throughout the land.
Look! Overhead! Pigs are flying!
“Digital presence”.
That’s the spirit, lads!
“…targeting companies and often for extortion purposes…”
“…to intimidate business owners into paying to stop the threat.”
Since Sweden is widely reported to have gone virtually cashless, how on earth is this still occurring?
One of the regularly touted benefits of a cashless society, according to those vested interests cheerleading for it, is that this sort of crime would be virtually eliminated once all transactions are recorded, tracked and traceable. One would therefore expect Sweden to be far less prone to this sort of activity than societies which are still fond of the old-fashioned folding stuff.
Can’t the cops just call up the database and find out to whom this money has been paid, then go knock on their door?
Or are we expected to believe that those naughty cryptocurrencies have been so widely adopted in Sweden that it’s worthwhile targeting above-ground companies and business owners in the hope of getting some Bitcoin out of them?
That means that the Police can sit in their police stations hunting down users of these digital platforms and their contents while not putting themselves in any real danger of doing anything useful to address the problem. It also allows them not to get their hands dirty dealing with actual criminals and avoiding any accusations of “Islamophobia”, surely a worse crime than anything done by the gangs to the Swedish people.
Coming soon to the UK, bomb-threat extortion of businesses, and the Met Police will be just as useless.
Multi ethnic societies can work – for example, in spite of having very serious problems, Florida (please note I said Florida – I did NOT claim that American society in general is working well) works and it is a multi ethnic (indeed multi racial) society – but to work such as society must have principles which unite them – in the case of Florida, and other “Red States” (America is one of only two nations on Earth where the colour red is used to signify conservative – the other is Paraguay) the principles that, more or less, united people are those of private property based liberty – the principles of the Bill of Rights (1791).
The people that Sweden invited in largely hate such principles as Freedom of Speech – but the Swedish elite was fine with that as they hated traditional principles as well. What they did not grasp was that the immigrants and their children and grandchildren (three generations now) would see native Swedish people as a source of loot and violent sexual gratification – and that these desires were justified by the philosophy (world view, theology – call it what you will) that they brought with them.
However, one must NOT exaggerate all this – Sweden is still (bombings aside – a rather important qualification) a more peaceful society than Britain, and a more prosperous society than Britain.
The Swedes also seem to waken up from their leftist dream – and are moving to end mass immigration, indeed are trying to get some people to leave.
The same can not be said of the United Kingdom.
As for the comments by the Swedish police – of course everyone is NOT to blame for the bombings, the bombers are to blame for the bombings – the bombers have free will (they are human beings) they could choose to do other than they do – that is the basis of the criminal law, indeed of justice and morality.
The Swedish police that I have seen (with Mr Ed) looked like quite, but firm types – and they dealt with a group of youths without difficulty.
So perhaps the silly words are a hangover from the leftist past.
It’s not ethnic differences – race – that causes this kind of trouble.
It’s the injured pride of Islam – injured by not getting the recognition they think they deserve as the true world rulers.
Florida has relatively few Muslims, and those that are there are scattered about.
I’m guessing the Swedish police have not yet and are never likely to make many arrests for the most recent 30 bombings.
Widening the net is there a breakdown of the ethnicity of those responsible for what must be hundreds of similar bombings over the past five years? If such data is considered unsafe to disclose they’re not being serious.
Maybe they could emulate our Home Secretary by cracking down on Amazon and social media while never losing sight of the fact that the real threat comes from the far right.
bobby b
As I live in the United Kingdom it is dangerous for me to discuss Islam – not so much a danger from Muslims, but rather from the British state (which is NOT Muslim – it is officially Christian but basically atheist and deeply influenced by “Critical Theory” Marxism – as seen in the Diversity and Inclusion agenda and the punishment of traditional opinions, such as those of John Bright, or Gladstone, or Winston Churchill as “far right”).
However, both the Koran, the Medina surahs (verses) having primacy over the older Mecca surahs and the Hadiths (reliable grade Hadiths) and the life of Muhammed, are all translated into English – although, in Islamic Law, only the Classical Arabic may be legally cited.
As you know bobby b – the line of the Western establishment is that both the written texts of Islam and the life (the deeds) of Muhammed, are about love and tolerance – Islamic scholars take a rather different view, at least when talking to believers (rather than non believers – who may be mislead for tactical reasons).
I leave it to you bobby b, and other readers, to judge for themselves whether, as the Western establishment claims, the Islamic texts and the life of Muhammed (his choices – his actions) are about love and tolerance – or about a rather different agenda, an agenda which his followers must follow on pain of death in this world, and eternal punishment after death, if they do not.
Does this mean they will reverse the concentration of policing power into a few ‘The Only Ones’ and restore citizens rights to self defence and holding arms so they can defend themselves and others. Taking responsibility as requested.
Subject to them not being a criminal, insane legal citizen. Simple checks, no need to a massive central DB.
May even make its way to this Disney country.
No Lord T – although Sweden is not as bad in this respect at the United Kingdom.
In a decent place the police are very interested in such things as burglary, the robbery and desecration of a the home of a person, they arrive – search for fingerprints and other evidence, and concentrate on finding the criminals and bringing them to justice. In a bad place the police are not interested in such things as burglary – and just give the victim a crime number (assuming they have insurance – not that they really care). Also in a good place the police are not interested in people expressing their political and cultural opinions – and in a bad place the authorities prosecute people for expressing the “wrong” political or cultural opinions (“racist” opinions” or whatever) and the courts send people to prison for expressing the “wrong” opinions.
I leave it to other people to say whether the United Kingdom of 2025 is a good place or a bad place.
