We are developing the social individualist meta-context for the future. From the very serious to the extremely frivolous... lets see what is on the mind of the Samizdata people.

Samizdata, derived from Samizdat /n. - a system of clandestine publication of banned literature in the USSR [Russ.,= self-publishing house]

Samizdata quote of the day – the Canary Wharf Black: from Biafra to Deloitte

The BLM lobby is still dominated by Afro-Caribbeans. More Africans have sympathies with the Conservative Party than Afro-Caribbeans (even if they don’t necessarily vote for them) — just look at Kemi Badenoch. Now, like most Pimlico Journal readers, I have no time at all for her. However, she does have the potential to help obliterate any future prospect of reparations. All she would need to do is ask that Nigeria, Benin, Ghana, Somalia, and Saudi Arabia foot half the bill for reparations, and black solidarity would immediately dissipate. Very suddenly, the Fulani will see themselves as tanned Tuaregs; the Somali as Cushitic; and Leroy from Montego Bay will forgo his chicken shop Shahada because Moroccan poon tang just isn’t worth that sort of money. Once you distract them from the easy punching bag that is the white man, they can start fighting each other; meritocracy sorts the rest out.

I believe the last person or persons born into slavery in the British Empire died sometime in the late 1920s (or possibly early 1930s).

The fact that your ancestors were slaves is not grounds for you to receive any reparations.

Otherwise, I hereby demand a healthy cheque from the British government on behalf of my ancestors who were clearly disadvantaged prior to the Roman Catholic Relief Act of 1829.

I’m still waiting for compensation from the Persian Empire for enslaving my ancestors 2500 years ago.

Wot? They freed them and let them return to their homeland? NOT ENOUGH!!!!!

Fully 10% of people in England were chattel slaves when William and his army of Frenchified Vikings showed up in 1066. Where’s my check?

Fuck off you greedy whining parasites.

Why do you need to be black to tell them that?

This article was going surprisingly well. Then he had to spoil it with the penultimate paragraph:-

“And then came the English…enslaving literally millions of Irish from the days of James II until fairly recent times”.

Blacks think THEY’VE got problems? – as one Jewish gent put it, “The Jews own the world? – well with a divorce, a new wife, a new house and a kid in college, WHERE’S MY CUT???”

I do not see why some people “have no time at all” for Kemi Badenoch – the lady is well read and has pro liberty beliefs (thought out beliefs – not vague sentiments like Alexander “Boris” Johnson). We must reject the politics of skin colour – and Kemi Badenoch does indeed reject it.

As Edmund Burke said, in reply to a lady who asked him why he defended the liberties of Indians, “they have none of your lilies and roses in their faces – but they are made in the image of God, just as you are”.

Paul knows much more than me about Kemi, and i am happy to read this.

But the quote in the OP says:

like most Pimlico Journal readers, I have no time at all for [Kemi Babenoch].

Which makes me wonder: what kind of people read The Pimlico Journal?
(And there is no innuendo in my question.)

Apparently, Kemi is averse to eating bread.
That might make her less popular with most British voters, but definitely more popular with people aware of the brain damage that bread inflicts.

Pretty obvious really. She was a high profile member of objectively one of the worst governments in British history.

That the current government is proving to be another of the worst governments in British History doesn’t validate the Tories. It is pure opportunism, but the fact that Starmer is at least pretending to be running to the right of Badenoch on immigration is telling how bad the Tories screwed up in office.
