Earlier this week three girls were stabbed to death in Southport. Several others are still in hospital. A 17-year-old of foreign ancestry has been arrested. This has led to protests which in turn have led to disorder. The communist establishment has blamed the disorder on “far right” outsiders. Given how widespread the protests/riots have become we will soon have to conclude that the whole of the British “far right” live at 10A Acacia Terrace, Nether Wallop.
So, who are these “far right”-ists? Well given how often Tommy Robinson and his supporters are labelled “far right” it would seem that either of the two demos he has organised in London this year would be good places to find out. As it happens I attended both of them.
Both times I drafted but didn’t publish a light-hearted piece for Samizdata. For the second – which took place what seems a very long week ago – I imagined what a Nazi might make of it. The long and the short of it was not much but given the events of this week it didn’t seem appropriate to post it.
Given the crowd and their flags one would have to conclude that the “far right” are people who are proud of their countries of origin whether they be England, Wales, Scotland, Ireland (both bits) or Britain as a whole, Canada, Israel or pre-revolutionary Iran. One would also have to conclude that many are far from the stereotypical pissed-up, white, working-class male.
Given the speakers one would have to conclude that they are extremely sceptical about mass migration, deeply suspicious about the way the law is being administered, in favour of freedom of speech, pro-Christian, mostly Reform voters and of all the colours and sexes under the sun.
And very, very angry.
Update I have taken on board Mr Ed’s quite correct comments and kicked myself appropriately. And Natalie’s too. The use of the word “foreigner” is, I accept, contentious.
Brendan, did you interview any of these folk to ask about their motivations for attending this demonstration and what they hoped it would achieve?
That photo is astonishing. For anyone who does not get why, it shows people holding the Irish Tricolour standing next to, and evidently on the same side as, people holding the Union Jack. In Belfast.
I must say, I had got the impression that Axel Rudakubana was a British citizen, not a foreigner. In most circumstances it would not matter – it certainly makes no difference to the horror of his crime – but by repeatedly obfuscating the identity of criminals from protected groups, the media and the authorities have made it matter. In this case, I get the impression that they withheld his name and description almost out of habit because he was a member of an ethnic minority, thus allowing the false rumour to spread that the murderer was a Muslim. Which, although wrong in this case, was scarcely an unreasonable assumption, given the number of mass stabbings by Muslims there have been across Europe lately. I am glad that someone had the sense to backtrack.
As I have said again and again, one of the best tools for defusing civil disorder is a trusted press, but the press will only be trusted if it is trustworthy.
I am rather amazed to see positive assertions as to who committed particular offences when there are active proceedings and as far as I know, no plea of ‘guilty’ has been accepted or verdict found. The defence could use such comments as a basis for dismissing any charges on the basis that comments indicating guilt are on the internet, making a fair trial impossible.
I am all for the presumption of innocence, Mr Ed, but no other suspect is being sought. There is no doubt that Rudakubana committed the crime. The only questions relate to whether he was responsible for his actions.
The power of leftist propaganda (agitprop – agitation-propaganda, specifically of the “Critical Theory”, “intersectional” sort) is intense – it saturates the education system, the media, and every institution.
Only a couple of days ago a former senior Conservative figure from English local government told me that the Reform Party were “Nazis”.
I could sort of understand the man believing absurd lies about Donald J. Trump – because he has never (knowingly) spoke to anyone who knows President Trump, but Reform party supporters are common in England, he-must-have-met-them, perhaps lives next door to some, but still prefers the lies of the BBC and Sky News to his own personal experience. Actually read their manifesto? Of course not – only a “Nazi” would read a “Nazi” document, and their manifesto must be a “Nazi” document, because they are “Nazis” (see how the thinking goes – it is circular).
Got-to-kill-the-Nazis – those-people-next-door-who-I-have-known-all-my-life-seemed-so-nice-but-the-BBC-says-they-are-Nazis-so-they-must-be-destroyed.
With people like that on a jury, Katie Hopkins or Stephen Yaxley-Lennon (“Tommy Robinson”) would have no chance what-so-ever, regardless of the evidence or argument in a Civil or Criminal trial.
“They are Nazis” they-want-to-murder-people-of-other-races – would be going round and round in the heads of such brain-washed (conditioned) jury members. They would be no better than a New York City or Washington D.C. jury – who want to tear-to-pieces any Conservative person brought before them, regardless of evidence or argument.
I repeat – there are people out there who believe that Reform Party people (Nigel Farage, Lee Anderson and so on) are “Nazis” – they believe this because the left have drummed into their heads.
So what chance of a fair hearing has anyone else “on the right” got?
None at all.
By the way, my being a Red Sea pedestrian would not get me a free pass – the spouse of the gentleman I have already spoken of, thinks Jews are committing genocide (that Jews are Nazis) – the lady believes this because this is the impression the BBC and so on give.
Those of us who are outside of this “bubble”, who do not believe what the BBC and the rest of the mainstream media say, have to try to grasp that the people inside the “bubble” (and there are very many such people) have a totally different view of the world than we do.
So Brendan Westbridge, Nigel Farage and co are “Nazis” and so are the Jews, so (of course) the people on the demonstrations were all “Nazis” as well.
“But what if they are brown or black?”.
Suella Braverman has brown skin – still a “Nazi”, so is a local council Conservative (yes Conservative Party – not Reform, Suella Braverman is Conservative Party as well, as are many other Conservative Party “Nazis” according to the agitprop) colleague who is black – he is an evil “ist” and “phobe” because he is branded as such.
In many American cities, due to the education system and the media (including the entertainment media), it is much the same.
Hence juries who, for example, will see an obvious lying scumbag like Michael “Hockey Stick” Man, versus an obviously sincere man, Mark Steyn, whose words are (sad to say) are a “Dying Declaration” as he is dying and knows it.
And such juries then decide to side with Michael “Hockey Stick” Mann, and spit upon the honest, and dying man.
Because Mark Steyn is “far right” you see, he is a “Nazi”.
Many years ago a dying Nicholas Ridley dragged himself from his hospital bed to speak against a Bill in Parliament.
The Members of the House of Commons knew Mr Ridley was telling the truth, they knew the Bill (ratifying yet more powers for the European Union) was evil – and they knew Nicholas Ridley was dying.
And then those same Members of Parliament voted, voted overwhelmingly, for the Bill.
It is what Hannah Arendt, writing about real Nazis (not “Nazis”) called “the banality of evil”.
One expects the evil to have horns and a tail, but they do not – they look like everyone else.
And one expects them to rant and rave – but mostly they just quietly get on with doing horrific evil things, as if they were just doing accounts or some-such.
I am simply pointing out that the law in England and Wales is firstly, that the ‘golden thread’ running through every case is that the prosecution must prove every element of the case, actus reus and where necessary, mens rea, AND here is some (accurate) guidance from the public prosecutor for England and Wales, the CPS:
Johnathan Peace.
The old French television series “The Flashing Blade” had a theme song – “it is better to have fought and lost than not to have fought at all” – sentiments that deeply appealed to Charles De Gaulle for personal reasons.
The Welsh poet Dylan Thomas put it this way “Do not go gently into that good night, rage-rage against the dying of the light”.
The people on the demonstration do not expect to achieve anything – they know that all power in this land is the hands of their foes.
What are they are saying, before their end, is “we were here – we made a stand, whether anyone remembers us or not”.
Back in the 1960s the French were still taught the history of their country, so were the British (even in the 1970s I remember history textbooks that were pro British), so they would know the background to this particular struggle with Spain. Elements that are not really covered in “The Flashing Blade”.
How, for example Louis XIII of France was suffering from TB (coughing up blood) which eventually killed him – but still, somehow, managed to ride a horse to personally inspire his forces. A pale-man-on-a-pale-horse indeed.
And how Spain burned people alive for theological differences (outlawed by Henry IV of France), and sold human beings in the market places of towns (slavery was outlawed in France by Louis X, who also destroyed serfdom, back in the Middle Ages – Louis the Tenth died at the age of 26 and was only King for a few years – thus putting to shame those of us who have had long lives, but have achieved nothing).
So although (yes-I-know) “The Flashing Blade” is really about the struggle with Germany (not really Spain) and is just in fancy dress – it could still be historically defended.
I wonder what would happen to someone who celebrated Charles Martell “The Hammer” today.
Mr. Ed:
Has anyone attempted to enforce this law against foreign-based websites?
This strikes me as one of those laws which would fall outside of the USA’s foreign-judgment-enforcement rules.
Of course he is not responsible for his actions He will inevitably be found to have some sort of mental problem or a series of problems or insert convenient excuse of the day here as appropriate.
It seems to me from simple observation that people with a better suntan than me disproportionately suffer from mental problems leading to spontaneous outbursts of lethal violence.
Phil B.
There is a genetic component to some diseases – for example prostrate cancer, black men are twice as likely to get prostrate cancer than white men.
Whether there is a racial difference for the mental disease of paranoid schizophrenia is very controversial – I do not know enough to have an opinion.
As for powerful emotions caused, perhaps, by high levels of male hormone – such a state of being can be countered by a disciplined mind. Reason can overcome the passions.
Remember even science fiction “Vulcans” are not “without emotions” – they are supposed to have stronger emotions than humans.
Vulcan males are, naturally, both more passionate and physically stronger than human males – and more prone to sexual aggression.
But mental discipline can counter all this – leaving aside the “pon farr” thing.
I repeat my question to Brendan: did you spiral to the protesters about why they were there and what are their objectives? It would have been good to know. On-the-spot citizen journalism, as it were.
Mr Ed is correct: there are certain legal rules about such mattered when it comes to reporting.
I repeat my question to Brendan: did you speak to the protesters about why they were there and what are their objectives? It would have been good to know. On-the-spot citizen journalism, as it were.
Mr Ed is correct: there are certain legal rules about such mattered when it comes to reporting.
Britain doesn’t have soil birthright citizenship, you have to be the offspring of at least one British citizen to have birthright citizenship. If you’re born in the UK of two foreign parents, you’re a foreigner.
If you’re a foreigner you can apply for citizenship, as in any country.
Johnathan Pearce – yes it would have been good to ask questions of the people in the crowd, to get direct information from them. Perhaps Brendan did that – I do not know.
But I guess that the responses were much the same as the responses I have got talking to people over years (I am one of those annoying people who knock on doors), most people turned away from the Conservatives because we did not deliver on our “right wing” promises – but they do not expect Labour to deliver these “right wing” policies either (which they will not – not on immigration or anything else).
So people (at least people “on the right” – people on the left are not likely to have a conversation with someone on their doorstep who is wearing a blue rosette, people “on the left” tend to just scream obscenities – as they are taught to by the education system, the universities and so on, and the “mainstream” television stations) are divided between those who are quietly in despair, and those who want to make a last stand – a gesture of defiance before the nation comes to an end.
But, as you point out, we do not have first hand information from most of the people at the demonstration – perhaps they thought such a protest (against two tier policing and so on) would actually make a difference – it would astonish me if they did think the protest would make a difference – but it is possible that they thought that.
Re Axel Rudakubana not being a muslim, I wouldn’t be so sure. A fair number of infidels who become violent criminals first convert to Islam and adopt muslim names in the process. Hence, that may be a reason the Southport knifer was first identified as Ali Al-Shakati.
One thing that struck me about the Mann V Steyn trial was the judge telling the jury that they needed to send a clear message to Climate Change Deniers. I had been under the impression that it was the judge’s job to guide the jury to focus only on the facts of the case and to exclude other factors that weren’t directly relevant.
Here’s one for the, ‘That’s odd’ compendium.
The BBC – anytime the BBC is involved in something, you know there is something ‘rum’ going on, – used the ‘alledged child murderer Axel Rudakubarna’, in one of its promotions for … wait for it, … Children in Need.
In the most far fetched fictional scenario, one wouldn’t have made that up.
You might think that the BBC is at the centre of a massive psy-op.
What does the flag at the left of the foto signify?
We are all the far right now…
Which given the media were earnestly spreading the news that he was ‘a quiet boy who never left home’ should give everyone food for thought about how likely they are to be lying to us all….
And anyone wondering how far the Establishment will go to control the narrative just look at how long it was before Hampshire PCC Chairwoman Donna Jones was forced to take down her statement.
The flag’s four quarters represent the four provinces of Ireland (Ulster, Munster, Leinster and Connacht) so the flag itself represents the whole island of Ireland. (The province of Ulster consists of the six counties of Northern Ireland and three adjacent counties of the Republic, Cavan, Monaghan and Donegal)
“Far right”? Ownthinkers I believe is the correct term, wanting a bit of ownlife.
Anyone who doesn’t take the ‘official narrative’ with a large shovel of salt, probably needs a psychological evaluation.
But the fact of not believing the shit the BBC ( to take but one source ) tries to shovel down your throat, means you are ‘far right’.
Off topic but pertinent, I think.
Rachael Reeves our new Chancellorette, says she’s found a £20bn hole in the public finances. Well, yea! The government is paying £22bn to the Bank of England per year over the next six years to cover its losses as a result of Rushi Sunak’s QE program ( where he increased the money supply by around 500% ) during the COVID psyop.
And if the British government is short of cash, then perhaps the £3bn they intend to send to the black hole of Ukraine could be diverted to fill a pothole in some road or build an aircraft carrier, this time, one that actually works.
That one photo does not show the extend of the political earthquake in Belfast. And in working class areas in the Rep of Ireland. Those crowds in Belfast had large numbers of Tricolors, Union Jacks and Red Hand Ulster flags. All intermingled. And on the other side in the counter demo was Palestinian flags, a few Sinn Fein Tricolors, and ultra left wing Antifa flags.
You now have working class republicans and loyalists on the same side. In the same demonstrations. Against the same political enemies. So “United At Last”. But against a new common enemy. Which includes Sinn Fein. Who are a marxist open borders party.
The group in Belfast from Dublin (Coolock) are from a hardcore working class district that has been solid Irish Republic for generations. The government is trying to dump huge numbers of unvetted illegal immigrants (all males, mostly Margebian, Muslim or African) on an area that already has few resources. There have been big demos recently and if the government try to force the situation the factory they are trying to convert will be burnt down. Like a number of hotels and other building already have. Direct action is all the power elites understand.
That’s who were marching in Belfast yesterday. Beside hardcore Belfast loyalists. Traditional working class republicans from Dublin.
This will end with a low intensity race war. With UK cities turned into bigger versions of what Belfast and London/Derry has been since the 1960’s. Its not going to be pretty. As anyone of European origin who has spent any time in a ZUS in any French city will quickly discover.
In Ireland the illegals and problem immigrants will be forced out. One way or another. The Eastern Europeans fit in well and are welcome. The magrebs, muslins , and west africans do not fit in well. Cause lots of problems with much bigger problems in the future. Given Irelands history I expect them to be cleared out some day with the same effectiveness of the southern unionists in the Free State during the 1920’s. Mostly gone in 10 years. With the rest forced to keep a very low profile.
Europe has a recent history of mass expulsions of whole populations. Not just the 12 million Germans kicked out of middle / eastern europe. It will happen again. One day. The choice will be either remove the unassimilable populations or end up eventually as the new pied noir. Except this time it will be the natives who are driven out. It only takes the unassimilables to become 10%/15% of the population for a country / city to start becoming dangerous, crime ridden and ungovernable. As so many US cities discovered in the 1960’s and 1970’s. Once you get to 20%+ the death spiral is unavoidable.
The future will not be fun.
Stonyground
You’re backwards. In the Mann V Steyn trial, the plaintiff’s lawyer argued to the jury that they needed to send a clear message to Climate Change Deniers. The judge rightly corrected him and told them that the law was that punitive damages were to punish the defendant only.
In that trial the judge continually to guide the jury to focus only on the facts of the case and to exclude other factors that weren’t directly relevant. He said from the start this was not a trial of climate change, and made that stick remarkably well.
Thank you for the correction, I was obviously misinformed, or more likely need to improve my reading comprehension.
We’re all far right now.

New reader, first time commenter…live in the UK, just outside of London. Not seen anything around where I live.
Re: birthsoil citizenship…slight correction. One of the two parents needs to be a permanent resident (like US greencard, but it is called ILR = Indefinite Leave to Remain) and not necessarily a citizen to apply for British citizenship.
My spawn is a British citizen, and neither my partner and I are citizens but we both have our ILR.
According to the newspapers this morning (and they think it is a wonderful idea) special police and military (yes military) intelligence units are now going to hunt down “right wingers”.
Guess who is a “right winger” – well, for a start, anyone who writes on this blog, including comments.
None of these police and military units can have been created or staffed since the Labour Party became the official government – they have had not had the time to create them or staff them.
So all these people must have been in place already.
Which we already knew – but it is “nice” to have it all confirmed on the front pages of the newspapers.

Very fair question. In short, I would say no, as the jurisdiction extends only to the UK and possibly the Channel Islands and the Isle of Man, and even though Scotland and Northern Ireland are separate legal jurisdictions, the act extends to the UK as a whole. The UK courts are powerless to enforce this outside the UK, but what they can do is, in the appropriate case, to hold that a fair trial is no longer possible if there has been serious prejudice to the fairness of the trial and so order the defendant’s acquittal regardless of the evidence, if the foreign website is sufficiently ‘notorious’ (in the sense of widely known) and so likely to have influenced a potential jury pool sufficiently.
Mr Ed, I recall learning all this sort of thing in my days as a cub reporter. Contempt of court was drummed into me and my fellow student journalists. The key was not writing something that might sway a jury. A big point was understanding when legal proceedings went “active”, and we all had our copy of this book. It is quite expensive but well worth getting a copy. All journalists should have it.
IMHO one measure the government could enact is to deport anyone with dual citizenship who commits certain acts. I’m given to believe the alleged Southport murderer took a knife to school? Maybe if he’d been deported…
Then revoke British citizenship.
Cool. Thanks.
I can see a Business Opportunity in this. Sit off here in the US and be hired by UK defendants to demonize them horribly on the internet, setting them up for acquittal. 😉
Sounds very Mysterious Affair at Styles
I find it… Interesting. Very “interesting” that Mr. Rudakubana is held to be a “British native”, while I, with my multi-generational presence here in these formerly United States, am held to be a usurper, a land-thief, and an interloper by the same people claiming that status for Mr. Rudakubana.
I don’t think that this sort of positioning is at all survivable for those making the case for it. The indignant working-class native Britons towards whom this sort of thing is being directed at will be radicalized by it, with the accompanying realization that their “betters” regard them as strangers within their own land. If you are Hindi, Muslim, or anything other than native, I have two words of advice for you, long-term: Get out. You’re not going to find Britain a pleasant place to live, once the idjit elites led by Starmer get done turning the mass of native British subjects against you, and I suspect that by the time we’re done, the Crown will either side with the natives, or there will be nothing left of it when the mobs are done with them.
This is not a sustainable path for the numpties in charge, and they’re purblind morons not to recognize that fact. I expect that there will be an eventual overthrow of the current lot of idjit-class dumbasses-in-charge, once the mass of native Brits figure out and internalize whose side they are manifestly not on…
Kirk – even the buildings created by Americans were not “really” created by them.
YouTube (owned by Google) is full of videos, created by lunatics, claiming that fine buildings (such as nice old houses or State Capitol buildings) were not created by Americans – but were “found” (already there) when Americans “stole the land”. Stole from which tribe in particular? As the tribes were constantly at war and moving about. Errr shut up – stole the land from “Tartaria” a world wide peaceful civilisation destroyed by evil pale people, or something.
Do not laugh – if K. Harris and co “win” (i.e. steal) the election – this will soon be taught in the schools.
That Americans and Europeans did not “really” invent X,Y,Z, is already being taught. With mythical inventors (of the “correct” demographic groups) being trotted out instead.
In the end, you have to marvel at the audacity of them all.
I do not see any of this working out at all well, and I expect that the Labour/Starmer “victory” in the recent election is very likely to be wiped out.
The Royals ought to be making up their minds whose side they are going to take in all this, because if they fall in with the usurping invaders, they’re going to go down in a frenzy of action/counteraction by both sides.
The stupidity of all of this, going back to the 1960s, is stunning. I really do not understand why and how the natives of Britain did not comprehend what their leaders were doing to them… Having their substance eaten out by taxes and civil encroachments, followed by replacement by compliant outsiders…
Who was it that predicted all of this, and was excoriated for it? Enoch Powell? Yeah, that was who it was…
Dare anyone to go through and markdown his speeches against current events. I think there’d be a rather marked level of unfortunate correlation.
And, remember… All the “right-thinking” sorts said Powell was a racist bastard, who was lying his ass off to the public. Huh. It’s almost like they planned all of this, ain’t it?
Perceptive post, over on X/Twitter:

He has a precise and to my mind, accurate diagnosis of the situation. People in charge should pay attention, but I can about guarantee you that they will not.
Britain is in for a long, hot time, which almost certainly will end in something unrecognizable to all of us now alive. I don’t see this ending well. Suppressing the “outrage” at what has happened is not going to work; the more suppression, the more rage, the more righteous anger, and the more hatred will build up until the pressure builds up and the boiler blows. Suppressing this is merely tying down the valve and painting over the pressure gauge… Precisely as Brexit was the product of the same form of stupidity about the EU. Expect things to get right spicy, going forward…
The ‘adults in the room’ told us four years ago that ‘all cops are bastards’, that riots were the ‘voice of the unheard’ and that we had no right to complain about property destruction in light of someone being murdered, and not to worry anyway as the owners had insurance.
Kirk – under the British political system legitimacy comes from the House of Commons.
Sir Keir Starmer and Labour may indeed have got a SMALLER number of votes than Jeremy Corbyn and Labour got in 2019 – but they have a massive majority in the House of Commons, and that is what matters (especially as all the institutions, the Civil Service, the Quangos, even the courts – are all establishment leftist anyway).
By staying home (not voting) or voting for the Reform Party, “right wing” voters (who rejected the Conservatives because Conservative ministers did-not-keep-their-promises) have created the most leftist House of Commons in British history.
There is no hope for the next five years – none at all. And most likely no hope AFTER the next five years – as the country will be so wreaked.
The people can do NOTHING – and any riots (and other such) will play into the hands of Sir Keir.
Some of us tried to warn what would happen – but we were ignored or ridiculed “If I vote Reform I will get Reform – what do you mean I will get Labour, that makes no sense”.
Now the bitter truth of the warnings will be felt over the coming, bitter, years. And we will not even be allowed to grumble – as grumbling will be “Hate Speech” which will prove we are “racists” or just “right wingers” who Sir Keir has informed us the courts will convict (not “I will not prejudge a trial” from this lawyer – it is “convictions will follow” the idea that the courts might find a “right winger” innocent, is not even mentioned – because Sir Keir believes that being a “right winger” is itself a crime, and knows that modern judges most likely agree with him).
RIP United Kingdom.
The meaning of “right wing” has been gutted, I have no idea what it includes, almost everyone, as far as I can tell.
Off topic, but I Do have a question. Are the victims only white or indigenous British people. Are Blacks and South Asian’s victimized, or are these statistics suppressed. I hope your talented artists are doing posters that memorialize the victims so they are not memory holed. That’s already happening here, with the Trump assassination.
Kirk, you often point out what is likely to ensure once the aggrieved citizens figure out what the “idjit” classes are doing to them. I am sympathetic to that view…and worried because revolutions are messy and a lot of innocents end up getting guillotined.
Question for you: isn’t another possibility that the aggrieved citizens are actually getting boiled slowly (frog-like) such that they will not rise up in time?
I’m not sure I believe this…it just seems like a possibility…and another worry.
Cheers! 🙂
BBC headline “Moment Met Police chief appears to push past journalist’s microphone”.
Here’s what actually happened:-
https://www.bbc.com/news/videos/cx2xxp7vw0no
It’s serious folks.
GregWA – the chances of a successful “right wing” Revolution in the United Kingdom are about as likely as you finding a time machine and going back in time to successfully save the lives of Franz Ferdinand and his wife Sophie in 1914.
The riots play into the hands of Sir Keir (the Prime Minister) – they make the establishment (and their plans for totalitarianism) stronger, not weaker. If the people “rose up” they would be utterly crushed – the idea of a successful rising is absurd.
Look how the “right wing” newspapers (not the Guardian and the other socialist newspapers – the “right wing” newspapers) have fallen into line. Front pages today…..
The “right wing” Sun newspaper “Day of Shame” – no prizes for guessing who it thinks are the shameful people.
The Daily Telegraph (supposedly for the intellectual right) “Far right rioters clash with Muslim counter protestors”.
So one side is “far right rioters” and the other is “Muslim counter protestors” – the language is so biased it is a sick joke.
And then there is the Daily Mail – supposedly the arch “right wing” newspaper.
It blames the disorder on “Tommy Robinson” (Stephen Yaxley-Lennon) – the fact that he is in Cyprus does not prove his innocence, on the contrary it proves his guilt! And the “right wing” Daily Mail has a photograph of the man on a beach – thus showing how guilty he is (no they are not being sarcastic – they actually do think he his guilty) – he is “the leader of the EDL” (an organisation that has not been about for years – and which he resigned from) and he is organising the riots via evil social media posts.
People can go on to X (formally Twitter) and decide for themselves if the writings of Mr Yaxley-Lennon are good or bad, but the idea that he is mind controlling people on the streets of British cities is demented – yet this is the line the British “right wing” press is taking.
None of this is confined to the United Kingdom.
For example, even in far off Japan – the television stations (such as NHK) are pushing “multiculturalism” and immigration, which would (of course) create the same horrors in Japan that it has created elsewhere. The Japanese people do not want this – but what the people want is not relevant. Only what the international establishment wants matters.
Supposedly this, the rule of an international establishment who pushes their fads and fancies onto populations who hate them, is “democracy”.
When I happened to see NHK (Japanese television in English) a few minutes ago it was pushing “Halal food” for the Muslims it wants (because it is told to want) to flock to Japan.
And Japanese people who tried to prevent this would, of course, be “far right” and would, therefore, have-to-be-destroyed.
And, before someone points it out, I know the parties of the left are not in office in Japan – as with the BBC, Channel Four, Sky News and the education system (and-so-on) under supposedly 14 years of Conservative government, the international left continue to dominate.
Yes it would be worse if the parties of the left were in office in the Japan – there would be even more pushing of immigration and multiculturalism, and ordinary people opposing this would be more brutally treated (just as Sir Keir will be more brutal in relation to the British public than Mr Sunak was) – but the same trends continue regardless of the party that wins the election. The speed and brutality is greater under the official left – but even under “the right” the basic policies continue.
How to stop it? How to prevent the death of nations?
Of one thing I am certain – riots play-into-their-hands and an effort at a “rising” would delight them. It would delight the international establishment as it would give them the perfect excuse for the full-on totalitarianism that they crave.
Many years ago I was accused of being a Reactionary – accused by a supposedly Conservative academic.
I asked him to define the term “Reactionary” – and he did define it, he defined a Reactionary as someone who wanted to reverse “Policy, to undo it, rather than to “learn to live with it” as “history has no reverse gear”.
Thinking about it I decided I was indeed a Reactionary – as reversing “Policy” is precisely what I wanted to do, I wanted to roll things back, restore things, economic things such as tax rates and cultural things, to what they had once been.
I suppose by “far right” the establishment mean “Reactionary” – people who want to roll back changes they do not like, rather than “learn to live with it” (every change – including all the changes that are planned for the near future) as “history has no reverse gear”.
Woodrow Wilson criticised the generation of President Grant and Senator Roscoe Conkling – the generation that governed the United States in the period after the Civil War (the “Gilded Age”).
This generation of leaders got rid of income tax and restored gold money – physical gold coins. Just as Prime Minister Liverpool (despised by Disraeli) had done in Britain after the Napoleonic Wars.
These were “Reactionaries” who wanted to (indeed did) reverse changes – they did not “understand” that the Civil War had created a “new government”. Later the great fear of Woodrow Wilson was that “Reactionaries” would take control of Mexico and Russia and reverse-the-Revolution (oh how terrible…).
Professor, later President, Woodrow Wilson, did not say “history has no reverse gear” – but he might as well have done.
“Has no reverse gear” because the Collectivists do not WANT history to have a reverse gear.
Woodrow Wilson cited Edmund Burke – but systematically twisted what Edmund Burke said, Burke was not in support of the sort of “change” that Woodrow Wilson supported – he wanted the OPPOSITE form of change. Edmund Burke wanted a smaller government – not a bigger one.
This whole definition of “Conservatism” as doing what the left want, but doing it in an orderly and peaceful way (how Disraeli or Richard Nixon or Edward Heath defined Conservatism) is sickening – it is a disgrace.
Idiocy in governance will always be with us, at all levels.
Why? Because we don’t hold these assholes accountable, simply nodding our heads and going along with it. We do that because it doesn’t impinge on our lives… Yet.
Local mayor performs some fiddle, gets a bunch of dysfunctional parking meters installed. They don’t work; they were badly installed; the moneys promised by the high-tech company never materialized. Suspicion is, she got bribes/kickbacks. The revenue never accrued, and everyone visiting this little tourist town hates dealing with the BS, plus they get ticketed and charged up the ass when they’re discovered to be parking illegally.
What has anyone done, about that? Not a damn thing. The corrupt bitch goes merrily on, having had her time in office, replaced by another corruptocrat who is in on all the little fiddles.
Enough of this builds up in a system, across a nation? You have what we have today in Britain, the EU, and America. What to do about it? Apparently, nothing short of bloody revolution will turn the clock back, because most people are stupid enough to build houses on the sides of volcanoes, never paying a whit of attention to the eventual denouement when said volcano erupts, just as it has throughout history.
You get the government you deserve. Mostly, because you can’t be troubled to keep said government in line, and deal with all the petty tyrannies that condition you to put up with the bigger ones, until one day you’re standing in the midst of a mob that’s being somewhat led by a demagogue who promises to “fix” all the little problems that the numpties and idjits have built up. It’s never an overnight thing, but it is an inevitable process.
One that I fear has no solution, other than giving up on the idea that “governance” is a solution to anything. It manifestly is not; every attempt at it that has been managed by human beings has failed because we’re greedy little self-centered monkeys who will happily screw each other over. The entire concept of “governance” is built upon the idea that some select humans are enlightened angels who are incorruptible and unable to err. If you believe that, well… Yeah. You, my friend, are a major part of the problem.
The US governing system was set up with the notion that corruption and malfeasance was bound to happen; the problem is that the Founders had not one real clue how bad it could get, or how ineffectual their measures would be, once enough of the malicious idjit types worked their way into the system.
The best governance is no governance, at all. Sure, you’d lose all the advantages of “big”, but the cost of “big” is hardly worth these civilization-crushing spasms of incredible incompetence we have due to “big” inevitably being taken over by the parasite classes.
Rome didn’t fall because the little guys out in the provinces “went bad”, Rome mostly fell because the people running the place didn’t care to keep it running, or bothered to bring themselves to understand how it all worked. They were still working their little fiddles on the city administration, there in Rome, when Alaric the Goth was knocking on the gates… Should tell you something, that.
Kirk – it is rarely actual corruption, it is normally just the system itself.
For example, replacing a library roof may costs millions of Pounds more that it should – but not because of corruption, but because of random regulations imposed by a “Quango” (an independent, but government agency).
Vast entitlement programs make up most American government spending – they start off relatively small, but over time explode in cost.
As for the people not holding government to account.
The people vote out a government that they think, for example, is too soft (too weak against the officials and judges) on mass immigration – and then get a government that is WORSE on mass immigration. Indeed the new government will be worse on everything. The people will get the exact opposite of the sort of “change” they wanted.
As for rioting – it is not only immoral (deeply immoral), it is also STUPID – as the government pretends to be shocked, but is (of course) privately delighted, because riots are the perfect excuse to brand all opponents “far right”, set up a “standing army” police units to crush dissent, impose even more censorship, even more persecution, even more indoctrination in the schools and via the media – and-so-on.
Anyone who suggests a riot is one of two things – an idiot, or working for the security services.
Paul Marks said:
The very nature of “the system itself” is corruption. Small scale, it’s the local HOA president voting for a contract to remove snow, conveniently performed by a company his nephew owns. Or, he has his driveway paved by the same road crew hired to pave the HOA responsibilities, and he neglects to break that out from the entire job…
Governance of anything presents you with far too many opportunities for small-scale griftage that grows into full-scale graft. Nancy Pelosi started small, no doubt. Probably had ghost employees at her childhood lemonade stand…
My personal take on it all? Shut it down, and bedamned to it all. Nothing done by government works, these days, so why do we put up with it all?
@Paul Marks
So if we hadn’t been so blinkered and stupid as to deprive the tories of the governance which is (apparently) their natural position, none of this would be happening?
When it comes to mass gimmegration, their (stuck) record is utterly appalling and I, for one, could see nothing to even hint that it would get any better.
I’ll grant you they would be a little bit more media savvy, maybe not so obviously whores of globo-filth nation destruction, but the fundamental trajectory – vaporising the disgusting primitive savagery of a death cult, and blaming the “far right” (we all know who they are) would continue.
The rhetoric, perhaps might have been a bit more conciliatory towards the indigenous British, but would they actually be doing much different in the face of “far right riots”?
If the actual divide is between those who cherish the nation state and western culture/traditions and those who want to turn the west into some sort of filthy zoo (because “they” seem to imagine it will be easier to “control”) then it should be pretty damned clear that der sturmer and rancid arse crack are no different.
And it’s not the fault of the electoral system either. Under pretty well any imaginable system, the result would have been some coalition of globo-filth whores.
I voted reform, and maybe I’m wrong and they will turn out to be just another globo-filth mini me.
But they might not be.
As for our friends across the pond, good luck in November, ye gods you’re going to need it!
I hope it turns out well, but I’m sure plenty of votes have already been counted.
We haven’t had mass voter fraud – yet!
Yea Paul. If the Tories are so good, why after forty years of it being a plank of Thatchers election platforms to create a ‘bonfire of the Quangos’, and fourteen years of pseudo Tory rule including the WEF puppets; Cameron and his sidekick Osborne, May, Johnson, Sunak, are you telling us, only a month after the General election that ushered in the execrable Kier Starmer, that the Tories were forced to do something by a Quango?
Why are there any QUANGO’s?
There being any, illustrates how useless the Tory party is.
According to Tim Stanley (Daily Telegraph, 12 August): “District Judge Francis Rafferty said that anybody present at a riot can be remanded in custody, even if they were only a `curious observer’.
So does that mean the idea of a “citizen journalist” such as Brendan is off-limits?
