Who Are We?The Samizdata people are a bunch of sinister and heavily armed globalist illuminati who seek to infect the entire world with the values of personal liberty and several property. Amongst our many crimes is a sense of humour and the intermittent use of British spelling. We are also a varied group made up of social individualists, classical liberals, whigs, libertarians, extropians, futurists, ‘Porcupines’, Karl Popper fetishists, recovering neo-conservatives, crazed Ayn Rand worshipers, over-caffeinated Virginia Postrel devotees, witty Frédéric Bastiat wannabes, cypherpunks, minarchists, kritarchists and wild-eyed anarcho-capitalists from Britain, North America, Australia and Europe. The best part was where the guy slid the thin glass doors closed, so carefully.
The only thing that could have made that video better is if he managed to get away in the end.
I don’t know any responsible adults.
To be fair, he DID keep his hazard flashers on throughout the incident.
They missed out a comedy opportunity when he drove through the extending tape barrier. He could have reversed and pretended to have been catapulted back the way he came. Just saying, is all …
I think when the cops caught up with him, he would have been given “The hamster” (i.e. punched so severely his eyes would be closed down to slits and his face swollen to resemble the aforementioned rodent). >};o)
It will be forwarded on to he usual suspects!
Isn’t the ‘Russian Drunk Drives Car’ redundant somehow?
You’re right: not funny. But I will concede that it cries out for “Yakety Sax”.

Are they sure he was drunk?
Nothing fundamental has changed since Hedrick Smith wrote “The Russians”.
Except the proliferation of video cameras.
It’s actually a pleasant surprise that they didn’t riddle the guy with bullets, I’m pretty sure that would have been the reaction in the US or the UK. Some of the spectators seem to react as if this was something that happens now and then in airports.
Drunk he may have been, but he certainly threaded a few needles without scraping anything.
PfP: I noticed that also. He drives better drunk than many Californians drive on their best sober day.
Mr Ed is correct – as display of Russian tolerance.
Killing people, without orders to do so, seems not to be the fashion in Russia.
I am surprised that even at the end there appear to be so few people in the chase, and not a blue light in sight.
