Who Are We?The Samizdata people are a bunch of sinister and heavily armed globalist illuminati who seek to infect the entire world with the values of personal liberty and several property. Amongst our many crimes is a sense of humour and the intermittent use of British spelling. We are also a varied group made up of social individualists, classical liberals, whigs, libertarians, extropians, futurists, ‘Porcupines’, Karl Popper fetishists, recovering neo-conservatives, crazed Ayn Rand worshipers, over-caffeinated Virginia Postrel devotees, witty Frédéric Bastiat wannabes, cypherpunks, minarchists, kritarchists and wild-eyed anarcho-capitalists from Britain, North America, Australia and Europe. Among several versions I have heard my favourite is, “The law didn’t make men and women equal. Colonel Colt did.”
I was just gonna add, it made women equal too, as physical strength is the only advantage men have over women. Guns equalize that, for those women who know how to use one and are not afraid to.
Gosh, Byron, I think that’s what Natalie was referring to. But thanks for explaining it to us in a wordier format.
The Second Amendment Sisters would agree with Colt.
Oh, speaking of Liberty Belles…
The Colt poem goes as follows:
“Be not afraid of any man,
No matter what his size.
When in danger, call on me.
And I will equalize!”
A great day in history for unilateralist cowboys.
