We are developing the social individualist meta-context for the future. From the very serious to the extremely frivolous... lets see what is on the mind of the Samizdata people.
Samizdata, derived from Samizdat /n. - a system of clandestine publication of banned literature in the USSR [Russ.,= self-publishing house]

Samizdata quote of the day I quit about ten years ago. I was getting sick of it and Hillary was going to finance her health plan with taxes on cigs. I went cold turkey and being mad at Hillary helped me over the rough spots. Maybe you could think of all your money that will NOT be going to the government.

Who Are We? The Samizdata people are a bunch of sinister and heavily armed globalist illuminati who seek to infect the entire world with the values of personal liberty and several property. Amongst our many crimes is a sense of humour and the intermittent use of British spelling.
We are also a varied group made up of social individualists, classical liberals, whigs, libertarians, extropians, futurists, ‘Porcupines’, Karl Popper fetishists, recovering neo-conservatives, crazed Ayn Rand worshipers, over-caffeinated Virginia Postrel devotees, witty Frédéric Bastiat wannabes, cypherpunks, minarchists, kritarchists and wild-eyed anarcho-capitalists from Britain, North America, Australia and Europe.

On t’other hand… you do realise that by giving up you’re doing exactly what they wanted? Hillary and co rigged the so-called sin tax system to manipulate you, and you bent right over and said “that felt good, do me again daddy”.
Just to throw a golden apple amongst the gods, so to speak…
Actually now I’m going to live longer and healthier and I can now vote against her and her children (spiritual ones as well as the other kind) She’s my senator .and some of the money I save can be contributed to whoever runs against her in 2006.
Anyway I just got sick of the habit & Hillary made it that much easier to quit.
One final point When I quit I swore that I would not complain about smokers and so called second hand smoke. I have kept that pledge, but I do find myself avoiding smokey bars and so on. (Easy to do in the US)
