The curious thing about idiots is that they never allow their intellectual disabilities to slow them down; always frightfully quick off the mark, they are. Mind you, it does help if you have the script already written beforehand.
As per usual the Guardian is the frontrunner (and I promise that I am not making it up this time):
“Short-sighted politicians in Washington, notably Donald Rumsfeld, the US defence secretary, and his deputy, Paul Wolfowitz, are putting it about that there are links between al-Qaida and Saddam Hussein. They have been trying desperately to come up with evidence to prove it, a task which they have singularly failed to achieve. But in trying they have diverted the resources of their intelligence agencies, including the CIA, and worse, they are trying to manipulate intelligence-gathering for political ends.”
So now the Australians know who to blame; it was Rumsfeld all along! And he would’ve gotten away with it too if hadn’t been for those pesky Guardianistas!
Hot on the heels of the frontrunner, comes the The Subservient:
“But some of the pool of grievances on which al-Qa’ida draws are real injustices – in particular the failure of the US to use its influence to secure a fair settlement between Israelis and Palestinians. These injustices ought to be resolved anyway, but resolving them may well reduce the supply of potential martyrs to murderous causes.”
Freedom for Zionist-occupied..er..Bali.
“The response of world leaders to this weekend’s attack should be to act to ensure that there is more justice in the world, rather than to deepen the sense of injustice that is the breeding ground of terrorists.”
Oh I’d wager that there are quite a lot of people just aching for a bit of justice, my old chum.
You know, in a world of rapidly spiralling uncertainties, there is a perverse comfort in knowing that some things never change.
Was it perhaps revenge for the UN-sanctioned, multilateral–but mostly Aussie–invasion of East Timor in support of regime change? Or payback for the Aussies attacking a Muslim nation at Gallipoli? Or justice 200 years after the fact visited upon the spawn of thieves who picked Muslim and other pockets in London and got transported but kept their hands? Yeah, that’s it. Now they have justice, surely we’ll have peace. No, wait. Did Abel Tasman ever put in to Bali or tangle with a Javanese Muslim merchant? If the violence was anti-Western, it must have something to do with justice. Right?
The fault lines of the political left are starting to really shine through. The Maxim, “Divide and conquer” looms large in the mind of the conservatives. Contrary to popular propaganda, many college students are not impressed with the left’s glee at getting to protest another war. The gravity of the terrorist attacks against WESTERN CIVILIZATION is starting to sink in. As the left recklessly fires round after round into both their left feet, one can only wince at the long term political price that voters will exact. The long term implications of this are startling.
I am moved to tears by the warm-hearted concern they show for the efficient use of CIA. I feel all warm and wiggly toward these saints.
When will people realize what they are dealing with and what the consequences will be for not dealing with terrorists? Between 1880-1914 terrorism led to WWI after having disposed of an impressive number of world leaders and innocents. For years the US ignored them, Europe will never learn to deal with them. The Canadians have embraced them. Washington DC is now seeing what is probably is theresult of a terrorist cell. There will always be idoits who refuse to act until they are slaves.

The leader of Jemaah Islamiyah, Abubakar Ba’asyir, is quoted in The American Reporter
as saying that “American agents” were responsible.

The usual suspects strike again.
If the CIA pokes its nose into every corner of the world, it’s evil and a threat to liberty. If it doesn’t poke its nose into every corner of the world, its responsible for terrorism. But of course, the people who set the bombs aren’t responsible. They aren’t even real people, just puppets we control.
And if there were only a ‘just’ settlement of the Palestinian/Isreali war, with a ‘just’ massacre of Jews, and a ‘just’ driving the survivors into exile, everything would be settled. All those ‘just’ Islamic people who talk about the West as Satan, which must be destroyed, they don’t mean it. They’re not real, just puppets, so they must think what Fisk and Chomsky think.
“R-I-G-H-T!” as Bill Cosby used to say in his stand-up routine.
Oh, those you cited are only the thin crust. Check out the BBC website for their Breakfast show. And after the Bali topic go to the comments. Nauseating but insightful as to the intellectual subversion that must take place in British education. Today they had an expert on terroism who made the most baffling alllusion I have heard so far. He blamed Bali on a lack of intelligence versus military application in defeating terrorism. He then went on to say that America (as if we are the only ones with a dog in this fight) was not getting the best cooperation from its allies, friends, etc. because it has been so unitateral in its politics (ie. kyoto, ICC, steel tariffs, etc.). In other words, he was saying that our European allies would much rather see 200 Aussies and Brits die from a bomb blast as a rebuttal for America’s intransigence in their eyes. How depraved intellectually can you get than that?
I just love these nutters; they always come through with the goods. It’s the tin-foil that lines their turbans – it gives them a direct line to the special knowledge they possess. The rest of us poor slobs have to be content with the mundane facts. Oh well….
Bali demonstrates that the ‘war on terror’ has succeeded in averting atrocities where systematic co-operation from the host countries has been forthcoming. If you read the Guardian article, it is clear that terrorists have been unable to target military or political installations and have paid the price in the incarceration of their members.
Al-Qaeda struck in Bali because Indonesia had provided them with the space to act and that country is partially culpable for this atrocity.
BTW countries in europe co-operate in the ‘war on terror’. Perhaps the Iraqi war should be delinked from the former since it is aimed at different security issues.
I really like that “real injustices – in particular the failure of the US” to solve all the world’s problems. Don’t ever become prosperous–it creates an obligation to make everybody else happy and prosperous too, or else. Especially if you don’t deserve prosperity under their morality.
Terrorism against Western societies is justified solely by the fact that the terrorists’ own societies are stuck in the dark ages. And people like those quoted support this shuck and jive because their own faith in Marxism has been betrayed by the success of capitalism and the failure of the workers’ paradise, and they grasp any straw to justify their hatred of messy freedom, so successful unaided by their exquisite guidance.
