Who Are We?The Samizdata people are a bunch of sinister and heavily armed globalist illuminati who seek to infect the entire world with the values of personal liberty and several property. Amongst our many crimes is a sense of humour and the intermittent use of British spelling. We are also a varied group made up of social individualists, classical liberals, whigs, libertarians, extropians, futurists, ‘Porcupines’, Karl Popper fetishists, recovering neo-conservatives, crazed Ayn Rand worshipers, over-caffeinated Virginia Postrel devotees, witty Frédéric Bastiat wannabes, cypherpunks, minarchists, kritarchists and wild-eyed anarcho-capitalists from Britain, North America, Australia and Europe. Indeed. Another general truth that applies especially well to politicians is: “Anyone who tells you what a patriot he is is trying to sell you something. Anyone who tells you what a patriot you are is trying to get something for free.”
And as I should have added: Not that the other politicians aren’t trying to steal from you.
Wouldn’t it just be easier to throw them in prison right after they were sworn in?
Politicians are trying to steal something from you if their lips are moving.
This is like a line from PK Dick’s The Divine Invasion:
The government… first they shake your hand, then they try to kill you.
Politicians are trying to steal something from you if their lips are moving.
Politicians are trying to steal something from you if their lips aren’t moving.
