We are developing the social individualist meta-context for the future. From the very serious to the extremely frivolous... lets see what is on the mind of the Samizdata people.

Samizdata, derived from Samizdat /n. - a system of clandestine publication of banned literature in the USSR [Russ.,= self-publishing house]

Have a happy & prosperous New Year…

… with minimal government involvement.

And to you and everyone at Samizdata!

Licences permitting happiness and prosperity will shortly be required to ensure that the wrong sort of people do not enjoy their lives. There will of course be a new Government Department (the Ministry of Happiness) to ensure that animal spirits of ordinary people are firmly under government control.

[sarcasm, but not that preposterous – just look at the recent budget]

Have a happy and prosperous New Year everyone… it’s a revolutionary act.

  • Wishing you all a great 2025!

    Happy New Year.

Prague is still a great city that people want to visit.

You were wise to move there.

    Nah. He’s just a Europhile.

Happy New Year folks! Long may you prosper.
    I enjoy your virtual company.

A happy new month to y’all. There is a new Congress on Friday, which it appears will be more inclined towards constitutionality than the current one, which has nearly spent its existence, I think the Senate is sitting tomorrow.

And then on 20th January, the Left will lose their enthusiasm for transitioning.

    Happy New Year!

As I await a callback from friends who did the New Orleans New Year revelry – to see if they survived the attack – let me just add that we ought to exterminate ISIS and all their local mentally-deranged fanboys.

  • Hope you’ve now got the good news you were waiting for, bobby b!

I did, thanks! Balconies are good places to be, apparently.

    Happy for you, bobby.

Balconies are good places to be, apparently.

    In New Orleans, yes.
    In Las Vegas, perhaps not.

    Snorri,
…and in Buenos Aires definitely not. Just ask the shade of Liam Payne who demonstrated that gravity works only in “One Direction”.

Mr Ed – I am looking forward to certain Senators becoming Committee Chairmen, or at least more senior in the Senate.

There are good Senators – Kennedy from Louisiana, Rand Paul from Kentucky, Ted Cruz from Texas, Rick Scott from Florida, Mike Lee from Utah, and (perhaps not as well known as he should be) Ron Johnson from Wisconsin.

I know that, for example, Senator Ron Johnson has prepared himself mentally, and so is willing to die (by “accident” or by “strictly natural causes”) if his investigations offend certain powerful interests – which they probably will.

At a certain time of life the fear of death loses its sting.
