We are developing the social individualist meta-context for the future. From the very serious to the extremely frivolous... lets see what is on the mind of the Samizdata people.

Samizdata, derived from Samizdat /n. - a system of clandestine publication of banned literature in the USSR [Russ.,= self-publishing house]

Seems perfectly reasonable to me…

I was going to label this as “humour” but it is more of a “future documentary” really.

Yeah. Visit an University in a Protestant country.

Is that supposed to be taking place in the future?
You know….like,”award winning” Science Fiction, or something?
In the US, we have “award winning” Economists weighing in, with delusions of authority,
on Social Justice all the time!
Of course, in the future, EVERYBODY gets to be “award winning”, lest any ones self esteem
    be meant to feel…unsafe.

OK, I could only stand about 1:40 before I ran my mouth off.
I went back the watch the whole thing, as (in fairness) it fell within my self imposed 5min. limit for “keep an open mind” web clips of unknown provedence
    Rod Sterling quality punch line!

Speaking of “award winning”, I love how during the Hollywood self-love fest informally known as “the Oscars”, actress Patricia Arquette, (AKA ‘no, not the pretty sister, it’s the chunky one’, and ‘didn’t she play that fake psychic for 10 years? What happened to her?’), reveled in her newly won Golden Idol and preached about how, one day, if we commoners become enlightened like the Hollywood elite, maybe we can overcome life’s REAL problems, like conquering the sexist wage gap. (You know, the Wage Gap of Gross Unfairness that has been debunked literally decades ago). This had another, even more “seasoned” actress (we can call them “actresses” at the Oscars. Everywhere else it’s sexist, but I digress…) hopping out of her seat to point and yell in a form of solidarity that would make Marx’s eyes moist, (or at least Erich Fromm’s eyes moist). Seeing this, Christopher Hitchens words came to my mind about how (I’m paraphrasing) the cultists never have any sense of self-aware irony during their hypocritical acts. Indeed, “The Oscars” is perhaps the only place left where ‘the enlightened’ can win a separate award for being an female actor…in a separate and explicitly female category. If they were PC, there would be simply one award for Best Actor which included both those who currently possessed penises and self-identified as male, and those who do not.

No one likes Objectivists… plus they had funny accents.

I’m so extra-double-plus offended that they are privileging a planet-raping urban setting over wilderness in this clip!

Meanwhile now The Telegraph qualification to define 911 attacks is “Disaster”, as if the airplanes hit by accident. In front page: http://www.telegraph.co.uk/

Is it foolhardy to make an opera about 9/11?
ENO’s Between Worlds tackles the biggest disaster of modern times.

CaptDMO what does “ran my mouth off” mean? Do you find the short too cynical?

I think that video is worth about 10,000 million words, is an absolute hoot, and is wonderfully well-done. May the Great Frog bless what-his-name — begins with a “K,” the writer — and the actors and actress, and everybody connected with the project. I really think the two Number-Ones were top-notch, maybe especially the girl. And where did they manage to dig up a Middle-Eastern Japanese Latino Brit?

When I become Dictator, I am going to mandate that everyone must watch it. Several times if necessary. Until they Get It.

    Thanks, S. Illuminatus. :>)))!!!
