We are developing the social individualist meta-context for the future. From the very serious to the extremely frivolous... lets see what is on the mind of the Samizdata people.
Samizdata, derived from Samizdat /n. - a system of clandestine publication of banned literature in the USSR [Russ.,= self-publishing house]

Samizdata quote of the day Voting to leave Brussels will cause your wife to have bigger breasts and increase your chances of owning a BMW M3.
– Boris Johnson, leader of the Conservative Party during the EU referendum of 2017 (as imagined by David Charter in Au Revoir, Europe: What if Britain left the EU?)

Who Are We? The Samizdata people are a bunch of sinister and heavily armed globalist illuminati who seek to infect the entire world with the values of personal liberty and several property. Amongst our many crimes is a sense of humour and the intermittent use of British spelling.
We are also a varied group made up of social individualists, classical liberals, whigs, libertarians, extropians, futurists, ‘Porcupines’, Karl Popper fetishists, recovering neo-conservatives, crazed Ayn Rand worshipers, over-caffeinated Virginia Postrel devotees, witty Frédéric Bastiat wannabes, cypherpunks, minarchists, kritarchists and wild-eyed anarcho-capitalists from Britain, North America, Australia and Europe.

A last—a rational argument about an important social issue.
I’m so glad I lived to see this day.
Huh, I just started working at Elliott & Thompson, the small publisher that publishes most of his other stuff (I literally started last week), and it’s good to see their authors hold sensible views. The one that I thought would most appeal to Samizdata readers is ‘The Mess We’re In’ by Guy Fraser Sampson, subtitled ‘Why Politicians Can’t Fix Financial Crises’. It’s a pretty pertinent look at the failures of government and deserves a wider audience. http://www.eandtbooks.com/books/?title=MessWereInThe
I don’t think I’m at the stage of being able to wrangle free copies but I’d be willing to lend my copy to to any London-based Samizdater. Just give me a shout on Twitter (at tfjo)
I think Boris actually said this a few years ago.
If Britain left the EU, the EU would still trade with Britain like they trade with Straya and Seppoland.
And how is that a bad thing?
