We are developing the social individualist meta-context for the future. From the very serious to the extremely frivolous... lets see what is on the mind of the Samizdata people.
Samizdata, derived from Samizdat /n. - a system of clandestine publication of banned literature in the USSR [Russ.,= self-publishing house]

Not your average rocker Bruce Dickinson, front man for the heavy metal rock group, Iron Maiden, is a qualified civil aviation pilot and was involved in flying home tourists left stranded by the collapse of a UK tourist agency. A nice story.
Of course, if I am on a flight that Bruce is piloting, I’ll insist he plays something really, really loud during takeoff. Go Bruce!

Who Are We? The Samizdata people are a bunch of sinister and heavily armed globalist illuminati who seek to infect the entire world with the values of personal liberty and several property. Amongst our many crimes is a sense of humour and the intermittent use of British spelling.
We are also a varied group made up of social individualists, classical liberals, whigs, libertarians, extropians, futurists, ‘Porcupines’, Karl Popper fetishists, recovering neo-conservatives, crazed Ayn Rand worshipers, over-caffeinated Virginia Postrel devotees, witty Frédéric Bastiat wannabes, cypherpunks, minarchists, kritarchists and wild-eyed anarcho-capitalists from Britain, North America, Australia and Europe.

He is also a published writer, a BBC DJ, a VT presenter, a script writer and a very good fencer.

And, he likes cowbells…
Sorry, I couldn’t resist.
And he informed much of my youth and like me he attended Queen Mary College, London.
Top lad!
Aces High, of course!
One of my least favorite bands I must say, but good on him!
Cant see Ozzie Osborne being able to find the cabin, let alone fly the plane.
Sadly, it seems the ‘cowbell’ thing is a different Bruce Dickenson. I must admit, for a while I thought as you did, that it was the same guy.
There’s a great program on Discovery that he does called “Flying Heavy Metal”. He has a wonderfully infectious enthusiasm for topics like the flight dynamics of a Boeing 727 which might be a bit dry coming from other people.
It’s not Icarus Airlines is it?
Good for Mr Dickenson.
Enjoy.
