Who Are We?The Samizdata people are a bunch of sinister and heavily armed globalist illuminati who seek to infect the entire world with the values of personal liberty and several property. Amongst our many crimes is a sense of humour and the intermittent use of British spelling. We are also a varied group made up of social individualists, classical liberals, whigs, libertarians, extropians, futurists, ‘Porcupines’, Karl Popper fetishists, recovering neo-conservatives, crazed Ayn Rand worshipers, over-caffeinated Virginia Postrel devotees, witty Frédéric Bastiat wannabes, cypherpunks, minarchists, kritarchists and wild-eyed anarcho-capitalists from Britain, North America, Australia and Europe. Guess I’ll rewatch V for Vendetta again to celebrate!
There are times that I think Guido was an agent provocoteur working to entrap the Catholic leadership.
As I’m sure most of you know, in the US we’re celebrating by donating to Ron Paul’s campaign en masse.
$4.2 Million in 1 day! Liberty Sells! Who’s buying?
I’m trying to source a quote I heard years ago. Its something like
“On the 5th of November, the British celebrate the day that Guy Fawkes was stopped from blowing up the Parliament. In Ireland, they celebrate the day he almost succeeded.”
I turned 47 on Fawkes Day. No government buildings were destroyed in the making of my birthday festivities.
