We are developing the social individualist meta-context for the future. From the very serious to the extremely frivolous... lets see what is on the mind of the Samizdata people.
Samizdata, derived from Samizdat /n. - a system of clandestine publication of banned literature in the USSR [Russ.,= self-publishing house]

From the mouths of taxi drivers, wisdom doth flow Back in my day, the toms weren’t much to look at, but you look at these Polish birds in London these days and yer think, blimey, I’d pay money for that!
– So said a London taxi cab driver the other day, starting off with what I had taken to be the preamble to an anti-immigration rant to a captive audience (me) but which turned out to be a hosanna to the value to the British gene-pool of the latest wave of mass immigration. He said because of the area he worked, he frequently picked up and delivered high class ‘courtesans’ to their place of gainful employ.

Who Are We? The Samizdata people are a bunch of sinister and heavily armed globalist illuminati who seek to infect the entire world with the values of personal liberty and several property. Amongst our many crimes is a sense of humour and the intermittent use of British spelling.
We are also a varied group made up of social individualists, classical liberals, whigs, libertarians, extropians, futurists, ‘Porcupines’, Karl Popper fetishists, recovering neo-conservatives, crazed Ayn Rand worshipers, over-caffeinated Virginia Postrel devotees, witty Frédéric Bastiat wannabes, cypherpunks, minarchists, kritarchists and wild-eyed anarcho-capitalists from Britain, North America, Australia and Europe.

You’ll never guess who I had in the back of my cab
last week.
Said the Peckham rapist…
I think the Polish gals really do have a little something extra going on. On average, they are above average, at least when they are young.
I remember going in a butcher shop on North Milwaukee Ave. in Chicago one day, and there were four women behind the counter, all Polish, most of the customers Polish, most of the conversation in Polish. Three of the women were blond, and very, very pretty. The fourth one was a brunette with green eyes who had the face of a fashion model, and a sort of ironical, world-weary look which made her even more beautiful. I walked of there with a bag of lunch meat and my head spinning from the overdose of female beauty I had just imbibed.
Long live Poland. Long live the memory of Jan Sobieski, savior of the West.
I hope their that their country takes off economically and that not too many of their magnificent women will be prostitutes, and not for too long, in wealthy and decadent England. England does not deserve them.
Maybe English birds are just ugly.
Yobbo, you are an Australian, and we really don’t want to go down that particular avenue, now do we? Pot and kettle, mate!
Far be it from me to defend our cousins across the Tasman, but they do have some attractive ladies over there.
Although not a patch on Poland, Czech Republic, or Russia if certain web sites are any indication…
In 1942 Orwell wrote that “The Poles have already done their bit towards solving our birth rate problem.”
Question will history repeat itself ?
Taylor,
I don’t know. There are a lot of Poles round where I live and I get the distinct impression a lot of them are only planning on staying a few years.
Nick
In World War Two the Poles who ended up in the UK were probably not planning to stay very long either.
For different reasons, I suspect that a lot of them will find reasons to stick around. While they may not be shot or sent to the Gulag they have few reasons to return to a relatively poor and not very secure nation.
Here in New York, we have lots of Poles and Ukranians who have no intentions of moving permenently back home.
If this thread doesn’t get a move on,
I shall be tempted, it being Sunday night, to tell you an on the point anecdote.
It may be the Somali Pimp/drug dealer I got to know in Cardiff story, or the Lithuanian brothel I went to in Northern Cyprus.
You Have Been Warned!!
So where are the pics? We need to know about what Polish birds are you talking about…. 🙂
People immigrating to the US are not generally willing to return to their countries of origin because they are very likely to be unable to return to the US. Especially if they are in the country illegally. As a green card holder I am a “permanent resident” of the US but if I spend more than six months out of the country I will be pulled for a “secondary inspection” on reentry and if I am out for more than twelve months I am presumed to have abandoned my residency and would loose all residency rights.
Poles have unrestricted freedom to work and live in the UK. As such they are free to e.g. study outside the UK for a few years, care for elderly relatives back home or just go on a lengthy world tour.
We’ll all benefit from this trend. I fully expect to marry someone from eastern Europe, someday, and I would encourage every healthy and intelligent bachelor to consider the qualities they have in addition to their beauty; they generally seem to be well-educated and practical, and their values are strong.
It’s been my experience that pretty women GENERALLY get what they want. What they REALLY want, not what they SAY they want.
If she’s in England, the U. S., or Poland, if she doesn’t want to go somewhere else, she won’t.
Getting a few pretty, intelligent, or athletic examples is a very stupid rationale for undefended borders. Those people will get in anyway.
I seem to recall Dean Swift saying much the same thing about the Irish prostitutes in London, although it may have been Adam Smith.
