I saw Michael Totten’s post yesterday and was floored by it. I had no idea the Yezidi even existed. They are an incredibly ancient religion, perhaps as ancient as Judaism. That They are fire worshipers who influenced Zoroastrianism and semi-Muslims influenced by the Sufi sect of Islam is equally amazing. It is almost unbelievable that they could have remained outside strict Islam. The Sufi are themselves marginalized by most of Islam.
And anyone who rejects lettuce has got something going for them.
What an absolutely amazing article and such a refreshing change from getting our daily fill of hatred, violence and death from that region.
I wrote a short story with Yazidis in it. I have to say their theory of religion makes far more sense than most religions. Its a case of religious CYA.
i and some of my friends in school have arguing that there is a copy of prophet mohammed picture. so i want to know from an islamic archives whether there is some?.
