Now let’s not jump to conclusions.
And the very worst sort – a Marxist.
This is foul slander! Karl Marx has never created any system of thought. Dogma, yes, but *thought* — why, that is just mean!
😉
If garbage landfill can be considered “system”, then yes, Marx created a system of thought.
In other news, water is wet.
The term “religion” fits better.
The original source(PDF) is quite interesting and not at all trite. Summary: Marx didn’t invent communism, he just preached it. His primary achievement was to bind socialist philosophy into the structure of an (existing) apocalyptic theology, which made it vastly more contagious.
Hey I also heard Ayn Rand was an objectivist. How insightful I am.
The point of the quote is that Marxists often try and pretend that Marxism is something completely different from communism.
Hm. Isn’t that circular?
The Socialists trying to pretend that they’re the pure Marxists remind me of the “moderate” Muslims trying to pretend certain parts of the Koran and of Islamic history don’t exist and that the terrorists are just a small faction within a “religion of peace”.

Which can never be said for the oh-so consistent and selfless rational followers of objectivism, I’m sure.
“Selfless” objectivists?! And I do believe objectivists are pretty consistent about saying that Marxism and communism aren’t significantly different.
Really early Christians were communists in the true sense.

Glad to see you’re following.

Hmm, having observed what was said in his name didn’t even Marx at one point deny being a Marxist?
