Who Are We?The Samizdata people are a bunch of sinister and heavily armed globalist illuminati who seek to infect the entire world with the values of personal liberty and several property. Amongst our many crimes is a sense of humour and the intermittent use of British spelling. We are also a varied group made up of social individualists, classical liberals, whigs, libertarians, extropians, futurists, ‘Porcupines’, Karl Popper fetishists, recovering neo-conservatives, crazed Ayn Rand worshipers, over-caffeinated Virginia Postrel devotees, witty Frédéric Bastiat wannabes, cypherpunks, minarchists, kritarchists and wild-eyed anarcho-capitalists from Britain, North America, Australia and Europe. The British premiership. Tony Blair.
Or the Unix “admin” you ask if they have root on the box and they reply “I’m not sure I know what that is”
Make a better idiot and the world will beat a path to your door.
(It worked for John de Mol.)
Or a worse idiot?
Off topic ( not much, speaking of idiots… )
Thomas Sowell:
“Of all ignorance, the ignorance of the educated is the most dangerous. Not only are educated people likely to have more influence, they are the last people to suspect that they don’t know what they are talking about when they go outside their narrow fields.”

Jacob-
That sounds like the perfect description of Chompsky. (Or absolutely any politician.)
I prefer “As soon as you make something idiot-proof, along comes a moron.”
So as long as we keep making things idiot-proot, the idiot stock will improve, ala Darwin?
Viva progress.
“You can make something foolproof, but you cannot make it damnfoolproof.”
“You can’t make something foolproof because fools are so ingenious.”
Even if you make it idiot-proof, you’ll still be sued because the warning labels weren’t in order.
