We are developing the social individualist meta-context for the future. From the very serious to the extremely frivolous... lets see what is on the mind of the Samizdata people.
Samizdata, derived from Samizdat /n. - a system of clandestine publication of banned literature in the USSR [Russ.,= self-publishing house]

A terrible business I made a brief visit to the Spanish Embassy in Belgravia this afternoon. At about 4pm there were no queues, but a trickle of people were going in and out. There was a large pile of wreaths of flowers outside the door. There were two thick condolence books, which contained the signatures of many people from many places. I signed one of the books. A Spanish official thanked me as I walked out the door. There was not really anything to be said. I was last in Spain about six weeks ago, and I had a wonderful time, as I always do.

Who Are We? The Samizdata people are a bunch of sinister and heavily armed globalist illuminati who seek to infect the entire world with the values of personal liberty and several property. Amongst our many crimes is a sense of humour and the intermittent use of British spelling.
We are also a varied group made up of social individualists, classical liberals, whigs, libertarians, extropians, futurists, ‘Porcupines’, Karl Popper fetishists, recovering neo-conservatives, crazed Ayn Rand worshipers, over-caffeinated Virginia Postrel devotees, witty Frédéric Bastiat wannabes, cypherpunks, minarchists, kritarchists and wild-eyed anarcho-capitalists from Britain, North America, Australia and Europe.

It is a relief to find posts like yours.
Thanks,

I find the obnoxious attempts by the TV medium, even on this occasion Jeremy Thompson of Sky and their team in Madrid, for whom I normally have a great deal of respect, to use this massacre as yet another anti-American/anti-war rally, by continually beefing up the possible Al Qaida connection against all the objective wisdom: viz, that marginalised ETA terrorists, increasingly desperate – in view of the Spanish Government’s recent successes in thwarting attempts at atrocity by them – perpetrated this to disrupt the election. UK journalists have attempted through the vox pops interviews all day to dedge up some leftie gremlin who would start the “it’s all America’s fault” bandwagon rolling – and to the credit of the Spanish people, failed miserably.
Are there no depths to which they will not decend to capitalise on this tragedy?
The Spanish people have shown remarkable support for their Government AGAINST the terrorists, unlike our own street rabble who have done their best to support terrorism for the past two years with their stupid and treasonous posturing.
I salute Spain and abhor my journalistic compatriots. May they rot in hell for their treachery.
As a spaniard myself I would like to thank all the people who have shown support for us and who share our grief.
We will always be on the side of those who fight terror. We are against those who support, harbour, sympathise or help terrorists.
Thanks for your support, united we will prevail.
And who is watching to make sure this doesn’t happen in Britain?
