Yesterday, a group of Australian (and other) bloggers and readers got together in the Three Wise Monkeys pub in central Sydney. Beer was consumed, impassioned conversation was had, a little rugby was watched, and although Tim Blair was not present due to being on his annual drive across America, a good time was had by all.
Jason Soon, Sasha Castel, and Craig Gaynor appear to be curiously inattentive to the Samizdatista present
Tim Lambert begs Scott Wickstein to let him know where he got the shirt
Scott and Tex get into the sort of bonding that was unfashionable amongst Australians until quite recently
James Russell and Michael Jennings smile about the fine Australian beverages
Ken Parish and Jason appear to somehow be having far too serious a conversation for the venue.
James Morrow looks somehow very American.
Ken, Scott, Mr ATM, James, and a Samizdata reader who it was great to talk to, but whose name was later deleted from my brain by the beer. (Sorry, although if you leave a comment, I will add to this caption. Update: Shaun Bourke)
Yes, it was that kind of evening.
I do look drunk, don’t I? Funny about that. Was an excellent night though.
Scott, somehow you managed to work your way into about three quarters of all the photos I took during the evening. I am not quite sure how you managed that.
I’m a Camera Tart!
It was my name that the long and quite enjoyable evening took its toll on.
That’s a surprisingly good one of me. And I seem to recall the other chap’s name was Sean.
I had thought that the blogger James Morrow is also the author of Towing Jehovah. The picture shows me he isn’t.
And Shaun Bourke is actually old enough to call me a “young man” as he recently did (maybe a bit less condescension when you do that the next time, Shaun, I’m not talking that crazy 🙂
Well ladies and gentleman of the UK blogdom, we have a marker set down for what constitutes a blogger party. We should can easily top this, if past ones are anything to go by. See you at the end of the month!
Ugh, note to self: do not try to make pithy comments after a long night in the studio.
Once more with feeling:

Harry is to hold a mini-bash later this week. Hope to see some of the Blighty based bloggers there.
Reckon James Morrow looks somehow very pissed. Think it might be time for a Bracksican bloggaboozeup.
Sorry I missed it guys.
I’m flattered you remembered my name.
How did you get Noel Gallagher of Oasis as the special guest? He`s loking a bit worse for wear in that bottom photo…
Just for hell of it I entered your name and Oh My God
there you were. How are you? Long time between
We are all getting a little older, aren’t we. Well, take
care of yourself (i wonder if you remember me?), I
never forget about you.
All the best and enjoy, ROSE (Bucks Co., PA) USA
