The Bush administration recently has been pummeled by a quasi-scandal involving the leak of the name of a purported CIA “covert operative.” I won’t go into any details here, as I don’t think there is any “there” there. One of the responses of the Bushies was to crack down on leakers in the administration.
This new anti-leaking policy was, of course, promptly, well, leaked.
From the Philadelphia Inquirer: “Bush told his senior aides Tuesday that he ‘didn’t want to see any stories’ quoting unnamed administration officials in the media anymore, and that if he did, there would be consequences, said a senior administration official who asked that his name not be used.”
It’s a wonder we haven’t learned the truth about Area 51, the Kennedy assassination, and the Philadelphia Experiment with this level of security.
I thought we did learn part about the Kennedy assassination. The SS guy did part of the damage when he climbed onto the trunk and his gun discharged.
CIA’s prints are all over this thing. And I thought she was outed in 1994 by Aldrich Ames?
And look who her husband’s tied to, the Saudis.
Here is the latest: The story has proven to have little substance to date, although the Justice Department continues its investigation. The Democrats, frustrated that the issue has not generated sufficient outrage is now taking out ads to puff the story.
