Just to say: thanks for all your efforts throughout the day, from when the news first broke, until now, and doubtless beyond.
Lots of Americans in particular, and people generally, have been reading what you’ve written and, although I realise this wasn’t at all the purpose of your efforts, I for one think you’ve done Samizdata proud.
Speaking for myself I heard about this within minutes of it happening, and read all your postings from then on as they appeared. And I just left you to get on with it. Posting after posting after posting – Dale Amon (Belfast, Northern Ireland) Aerospace, Permalink, Trackback [several], Comments (numerous) – seemed to me (and evidently to all of us who had heard the news and had checked out what Samizdata was saying about it) to be by far the best way for us to respond collectively to this dreadful event.
But American readers of this blog in particular should understand very clearly that letting you say it all for all of us like this has not been because of any indifference to this matter on the part of the rest of us, unless I am hideously mistaken. It is merely that with you on the story, our little bit was simply to get out of your way and let you tell it. What could we possibly add?
So, one thing I (for one) do add is, again: thanks.
